I upgraded my src-sys with cvsup, added this few lines to default kernel configuration file:

CURRENT is following the 5.x branch. If you are trying to use current on a 4.x machine then there's some upgrades you have to do to jump from one branch to the other.

Post you full kernel config and possibly your make.conf ... there could be something in there that preventing crypto from compiling - either that or that the crypto sources aren't installed

First of all, do you have a /usr/src/crypto directory?

The config file looks like the standard config, you could probably remove a lot of the un-needed stuff in there and get a leaner kernel.

Trim this part to whatever processor you have for starters:

Also, unless you have SCSI subsystem, comment out all the # SCSI Controllers, # SCSI Peripherals and #RAID sections

You won't need # PCCARD stuff unless this is a laptop, and you should comment out any Ethernet NIC's you won't need

One other "style" guide I use is to keep all the kernel options together, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter where you put them in the file.

Only post your make.conf if you have added or removed anything from the default, better still, post only the bits you have changed

I've installed crypto with cvsup, now there is /usr/src/crypto, but when I trie to compile kernel - the same error occurs.

try updating your sources w/ this cvs-supile. dont change anything other than the host if you want.. i'm betting your cvs-supfile is not correct.. possibly pulling current sources and dying on you..

Another thing, you might want to re-read the handbook on the recommended method of compiling a kernel.

kernel only -

rm -rf /usr/obj

wont work.. some files in there normally contain flags..

cd /usr/obj
chflags -R noschg * ; rm -rf *
cd /usr/src
make cleandir ; make cleandir
make buildkernel KERNCONF=KERNELNAME
make installkernel KERNCONF=KERNELNAME

(you can skip adding kernconf if you put your kernel name inside the /etc/make.conf)

but the method he's using should work just fine also.. you can compile a kernel 2 ways..
