hey, one of my goals this year at work is to create an new IDS policy at work. We currently use Cisco IDS (which I hate) and the models we have will be end-of-line soon. So there may be a chance I can convince management to change to something else =) Anyone have any ideas of IDS solutions that work great. Only catch is, it has to be fully "supported" by 3rd party, so i cant role out my own snort/shadow/sguil/etc.. ive seen NAI's new IPS product in a demo and was impressed, but was wondering if anyone has seen/used any of these products and ho they compare. Basically i dont believe anything the salesman tells me until i see it in action :P Some other ones that ive been looking at are sourcefire, netscreen, symantec, etc..
