I have become quite the convert since starting use of XFCE4 a couple of weeks ago. Speed has been great and the plethora of available themes right out of the box makes customizing the interface for the significant other that much easier. That being said, I've noticed that the icons of the launchers on the panel are clipped on the sides. These are the default, Curve theme icons and the same thing occurs if I change to the other default icon packs. The size of the panel has no impact, nor does changing any of the other panel settings. It's really not a major issue, but it sure would be nice to solve. Does anyone have a guess about this?

Nevermind, turns out this is a very well documented bug. GTK 2.4.2 and above cause the issue.
